The Lockup Recording Studio provides professional level results for any recording project.
Utilising equipment from industry leading brands we strive to record fully realised performances that sound exactly the way you want them to with the highest possible efficiency.
Your studio time is precious and we ensure to make the best possible use of it.
The Lockup Recording Studio is a comprehensive production solution that will allow you to transform your musical vision into a reality. Situated in the heart of Dundalk, Co. Louth, the Lockup is 5 minutes from the M1 and is less than an hour’s travel from Dublin and Belfast.
The heart of our recording studio is a 24 channel Allen&Heath QU-24 mixing console providing 24 AnalogiQ preamps as well as direct DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) integration giving us full fader control over your mix, monitored back to our control room through class leading Apogee digital to analogue conversion and amplification.
The next key components of our studio are 4 class leading Apogee preamps (with ESS Sabre32 converters) that allow us to capture your performance with extreme focus and clarity.
Supplemented with 2 Focusrite Liquid Channel preamps and 6 Focusrite Saffire preamps (all with Cirrus Logic CS4272 converters) as well as 4 RME OctaMic preamps (with ADI-8 converters) and 8 MIDAS preamps (with AKM AK5393 converters) all interfaced through our RME Digiface we can live-track 32 channels simultaneously with zero latency.
The Lockup Recording Studio utilises a specialised range of recording equipment from leading industry brands including Allen&Heath, Apogee, RME, Focusrite, Aston, Oktava, AKG, Sennheiser and Shure that allows us to capture your performance with extreme focus and clarity.
We utilise a large mix of musical equipment, amplifiers from Orange, Marshall, Vox, VHT, Ampeg and Hiwatt, electric guitars, acoustic guitars and bass guitars from Fender, Gibson, Gretsch and Tanglewood as well as a full range of drum equipment from Premier, Natal, Pearl, Slingerland, Peavey, Zildjian, Paiste and Sabian.
Our philosophy in the studio is to get the sound perfect before tracking allowing us to be fully focused on performances during recording to provide maximum efficiency and value.
To help achieve this we offer as part of our recording packages pre-production and a full setup, drum miking, amp miking and headphone mixes the evening before the first day of tracking. This allows the artist to begin capturing their performance full of energy at the beginning of the recording day and to translate that energy into the finished production.
